Upon finishing my edumacation, I began working at Good Time Charlie's End of the Trail Tattoo studio, in Modesto, CA. The premier shop of the area, and a family business. My grandfather is Good Time Charlie Cartwright, His son Nick Cartwright, or DAD, as I like to call him lol and my amazing Aunt, Reyna Dalton, and her talented husband Trevor, my uncle, all very well established, and respected artists in the business, for obvious reasons. Their time in the business, their dedication to it, their high quality of work, the high output of work, and their good business practices. All layed the foundation and steps before me, and a thousand thank you's to them for that. Get this, not only was I lucky enough to have them amazing artists and lived ones ahead of me and handing down all their collective knowledge to me, but I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with countless world class artist from literally all over the world. I may have had the most INformal apprenticeship possible, but in all the most positive ways. I didn't just learn from one artist, while my teacher was primarily one person, (dad) I was blessed with the option of sponging and soaking up any and all I could from everyone that came through during my tenure there. A quick shout out to all who were harassed by my curiosity, incessant questioning, and inability to accept anything other than a full and detailed explanation of whatever I was questioning. Much love to all those who helped build my perspective and understanding. I'd bow in honor, if you could see me face to face, but you can't so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it! So, that being said, I was officially let "loose" upon the masses as a formal, and professional artist in the late/early 2003-2004 seasons. I'm proud to say I was fortunate enough to have spent the first 17 yrs. of my career there, and if not for the shop's closing, I would've stayed as long as they'd have had me! Now, with all the wonkiness caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, the restrictions on our ability to work normally, if at all, for a good while there, caused me to think outside of the box......a lil WAY outside the box, and while I'm not the first to do what I'm doing, I can gaurentee you, that I'm def the first one to do it HOW I'm doing it, and because it's SOLELY MY doing. From top to bottom, inside and out, and everything in between, it's All my PERSONAL CREATION, CONCEPTION, AND DOIN'S. I love taking on anything people assume to be challenging, or better yet "undoable," because while it may be true in EXTREMELY RARE INSTANCES, the truth is, most times, they(the previous artist, or artists who've said it wasn't possible) just haven't had the right approach, perspective, willingness or desire to do what's ACTUALLY possible. I love my daughter's, I love Tattooing, I love art, I love Punk Rock, I love skateboarding, and I love meeting and providing my services to most all people, and getting blessed with the honor of being chosen as the, or an artist who's been asked to ink them indelibly, for the rest of their lives(give or take depending on scenario of course). I laugh when I hear the word poop, someone farts (not in the getting tattooed scenario), or I get a good Joke told to me, I LOVE Batman. Period. All things Bat, are def my jams.......So know u know a bit about me, if you think you can work with that, well then come on down, give me a shout(texts preferred), and let's see what we can put our heads together, and MAKE some bad ass art!
